School Self Evaluation

As past of the School Self Evaluation process, we have been focusing on particular aspects of teaching and learning over the past three years.  Our initial focus was on how we teach oral language and how to engage the children in their own learning of new, enriched and extended vocabulary. We developed a teaching strategy which we have called Word Wizards. This has proved very successful. To read more about it, please click here for our Literacy Report and Plan.

We were delighted to be invited to speak to a conference of the Inspectorate and Principals from around the country on October. The focus of the conference was on the School Self Evaluation process and how it was working in schools. Our Principal, Ms Hogan, delivered a presentation on Word Wizards, which many participants found very interesting and useful.

In the second year of the SSE process, we worked on particular aspects of Maths and this year, we have added on Gaeilge (Irish).  Check back in this section for updated reports and plans for these two areas.
